Chemical hoses are suitable for organic and inorganic liquid chemicals (acids and bases, salt solutions, paints and varnishes, solvents, etc.).
For chemical transfer in chemical processing, for technical processes in various chemical, food, pharmaceutical industries, for many other industrial processes, also in laboratories. The inner layer of the hose must be sufficiently chemical resistant.
So as to select the right hose in terms of its chemical resistance, it is essential to gather the following data: type of medium (substance transferred by the hose), its state (e.g. liquid, gas), concentration and temperature of the substance, working pressure.
The safety data sheet of a chemical substance is critical for the proper hose selection. Check if there is a risk of static charges build-up, particularly for operation in a determined potentially explosive zone.
The inner layer of chemical hoses is usually made of EPDM, EPM rubber or UPE. They are reinforced with textile cord or braid, if necessary, with steel wire helix in the case of suction delivery hoses. The outer layer is made of rubber resistant to external factors.
Couplings and fittings intended for chemical hoses must be corrosion resistant the same as their sealing. The fittings are mounted using worm-drive clamps, bolt screw clamps or crimped with ferrules.
Other hoses suitable for the transfer of chemical substances are available in the following groups: ducting hoses, composite and metal hoses, PTFE and silicone hoses, tubing for peristaltic pumps and Tygon tubing as well as in thermoplastic hoses group.
Why PTFE Lined Hose Assemblies are Your Chemical Hose of Choice?
PTFE lined hose with braided SS reinforcement is extremely flexible and versatile for use as a chemical hose. For example, our B-Flex and C-Flex PTFE hoses are ideal for low to high pressure and a wide range of temperatures.
They are easy to drain and can handle a variety of chemical fluids, gases and granulates due to their chemically resistant properties. Best of all, they have a non-aging surface, resulting in a durable, long-lasting chemical hose solution for your manufacturing process and control.
