First, confirm the pressure rating. The air hose‘s max pressure must be higher than your air compressor’s output. For example, if your compressor hits 120 PSI, choose a hose rated for 150+ PSI. Using an underrated hose risks bursts.

Second, pick the right length and diameter. Longer hoses suit large work areas, but avoid overly long ones as they reduce air pressure. For most tools, a 1/2-inch diameter hose works; smaller tools need 1/4-inch.
